Lecturers will be Michael Haberl and Boyko Spasov.
Michael started as PC Games Programmer in 1998 and founded his own company just 3 years later: Xendex, first a mobile games developer, soon later also a publisher, at top 70 people with offices in Vienna, Krakow and Mumbay. He worked with partners such as EA, Glu, THQ, Konami, Disney, Kiloo, BandaiNamco, Taito and 120 other game studios. Since 2016 he lives and works in Sofia, running his new company Playades, focussing on mobile games production and publishing. Michael is also active as business consultant (for clients like Red Bull, Sony) and in the field of M&A.
Boyko has been making video games for fun since he was fifteen. In 2006 he started work as an online game developer, and since then has co-founded 2 game development studios in Sofia, Bulgaria. He has 9 years of experience in the game development services business, programming/managing the development of more than 200 games, mostly as part of big marketing campaigns, and around 10 serious games. He is currently the co-founder and lead developer of Big Loop Studios, where they produceand sometimes publish their own mobile games for the last 3 years.
Boyko will share some real-world user acquisition and monetization data from successful mobile games on the Apple App Store and Google Play. He will stress on the differences between the two stores, as well as on the monetization potential of players in different countries.
And since alternative game portals/app stores exist everywhere, especially in emerging markets, Michael will give insight into how developers can make money outside of the overly crowded Apple/Google stores.
