Project assistants | Dronamics

Our team at DRONAMICS is developing the world’s first unmanned cargo airplane that can transport 350 kg over 2,500 km. We believe it will transform aviation and will have a tremendously positive impact on the lives of millions of people in emerging markets and beyond. We have achieved significant industry recognition for our work and are supported by some of the top experts in the fields of aerospace engineering and logistics worldwide, but now we’re looking for even more help, particularly in the form of Project Assistants – individuals who can support our work in research, project management, business development and fundraising (we’re a startup, we get to do it all, yay! {insert puke emoji})

We can talk more about ourselves,

YOU are at a point in your life when you’ve just had it. With everything. You are considering (once more) leaving Bulgaria. “The hell with this place,” you catch yourself thinking. I mean, you love the Sofia nightlife but you know that’s not what life is all about. You miss a good challenge, and you hate that you’re becoming a walking oxygen-converting machine. You’ve realized that life is one big marathon where you are the only Coach of the only contestant: Your Work. Where “Work” is not a job, but the product of your efforts. Your Life’s Work. It’s what’s going to be left behind you long after you’re gone. What will (or at least you hope it will) matter. And deep down in your heart, you know — you can just feel it — that if you don’t do something about all of this now, let’s face it – you never will. And that scares the shit out of you.

You want a job that truly matters. A challenge that will make you love Mondays (again). A cause that will make your friends think you’re crazy, and your parents – embarrassed to a point they’ll be telling their neighbors you’ve left Bulgaria (again). But you don’t care. You couldn’t. You shouldn’t. It’s You & Your Life’s Work, right?

We know there’s quite a few of you out there. Possibly more than we could ever hire. To those we don’t – we hope this gives you a little more hope and direction. The world is better when we’re Doers and Givers, so go out there and be one, and trust us – great things will happen.

To the one(s) we do hire, here’s what you will also have:

… a comfort zone you’re ready to break out of. We’re a startup, which means you’ll get to mix high-level work with more administrative (and sometimes “dull”) tasks. Some things you’ll be a master at, others – not so much. You’ll fall flat on your face the first few times. Boo-hoo. Life doesn’t care, Life doesn’t wait. The hierarchy at our company has only two tiers: 1) THE WORK 2) everyone else, so we all get to do a little bit of everything around here, which in turn requires…

…an insatiable desire for knowledge. No matter how much you think you already know, you will want to keep learning — and learn you will, faster than you’d probably like. In your free time (what free time?) you’ll find yourself reading an insane amount of materials, without waiting for someone to ever assign them to you. You’ll do it because you want to, because you want to get better, because you want to *be* better. This requires learning to the point of extreme, but also…

…a fear of failure that’s dwarfed by your fear of not trying. What we’re doing is really considered by many to be impossible. Rationality says they’re right. There’s just too many things stacked up against us and we certainly don’t help our chances being in Bulgaria. But innovation requires a certain suspension of reality otherwise it just doesn’t work. You want to help build something that will make high school graduates 5 years from now say they want to stay in Bulgaria for, because if we make it, anything will be possible. Not let’s-move-a-river-so-we-can-overbuild-Irakli possible, but let’s-make-a-scientific-breakthrough-that-will-actually-benefit-humanity possible. The good kind of possible. The hard kind of possible.

  • LOTS of opportunities for personal and professional growth, incl. outside of Bulgaria
  • TONS of work, ZERO office politics. No Facebook, bureaucracy or coffee runs.
  • Full-time labor contract, motivating remuneration.

If you’re interested, send your CV in English to And instead of a cover letter, in your e-mail, we want to read your answers to the following three questions: 1) Why You? 2) Why Now? 3) What’s the three-digit number corresponding to the number of words this ad has? Rule of thumb: Real you > BS you.

As a startup, we have limited resources, so only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Thanks!
